  • PROJECT INFORMATION
  • Sealed bids will be received by Village of Westfield Center (“Owner”), at the office of the 6701 Greenwich Road, Westfield Center, Ohio 44251 for VILLAGE OF WESTFIELD CENTER VILLAGE HALL IMPROVEMENTS until the bid time and date at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows
  • Bid Date: June 1, 2018.
  • Bid Time:  2:00 p.m. local time.
  • Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.
  • BID SECURITY
  • Each bid must contain the full names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty Bond for the full amount (100%) of the Bid, in favor of the “Owner” or a certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit pursuant to chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of 10% of the Bid, payable to the “Owner”.
  • It is agreed that the bid guaranty shall be for the benefit of the “Owner” pursuant to Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code if the undersigned fails to execute the Contract in conformity with the Form of Contract incorporated in the contract documents and furnish Bond and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after notification of the award of the Contract to the undersigned.
  • DOCUMENTS
  • Contracting Documents: Copies of the Contract Documents are on file and may be obtained directly from SE Blueprint (540 South Main Street Suite 211, Akron, Ohio 44311. PH_330.376.1689), at cost, none of which will be refunded.
  • Please note that in order to be considered as a “responsive bidder” for this project, you must purchase a set of plans and bid documents, and follow all instructions provided. Bids from contractors who are not on the Plan Holders List will be disqualified.
  • PREBID MEETING
  • A Prebid meeting for all bidders will be held at Village of Westfield Center on May, 18th at 2:00 p.m. local time. Prospective prime bidders are encouraged to attend.
  • The “Owner” reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive an informalities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which it deems most favorable. The “Owner” is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against the handicapped.
  • SCOPE OF WORK
  • The Scope of Work for the VILLAGE OF WESTFIELD CENTER VILLAGE HALL IMPROVEMENTS consists of the following:
  • Site improvements include reconfiguring vehicular circulation including replaced asphalt pavement, sidewalks, brick pavers, curbs, landscaping, and irrigation.
  • A re-located Architectural fountain.
  • Site lighting improvements.
  • An architectural portico located at the SE entrance to the existing Post Office.
  • Improvements to the existing service garage.
  • Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work:
  • General Contract (all trades).
  • PROJECT SCHEDULE
  • Contractor shall be aware of the following schedule, and subject to the conditions listed below:
  • Pre-Bid Meeting:                                                           May 18th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Bid Opening Date:                                                         June 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages.
  • ARCHITECT’S / ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE
  • The official estimate of Probable Construction Cost for this Project is $568,000
