 The ABC's of the Village of Westfield Center.

The Village operates the water system and wastewater treatment plant.
New residents should apply for service at the village hall. Meters are
read in March, June, September and December. There is no deposit
required if bills are paid by the due date.
ANIMALS:
| No domestic animal of any kind may be allowed to run free in
the village. All dogs must be registered annually with the county
auditor and wear a registration tag. Pet owners are responsible for
cleaning up after their pets if a mess is made on property other than
their own. |

| No person shall keep more than a total of three (3) household pets (3 dogs, 3 cats or a combination). |
| No
person shall keep or harbor any dog within the village which, by
frequent and habitual barking, howling or yelping, creates unreasonably
loud and disturbing noises of such character, intensity and duration as
to disturb the peace, quiet and good order of the village. |

AUTOMOBILES:
| All automobiles must be registered. The county's automobiles
must be registered. The county's automobile title office is located in
Medina at 972 N. Court St. in North Pointe Plaza with MC Sports and
facing Buehlers Market. License plates, driver's licenses and driver's

| No
person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle upon any roadway or personal
property for the principal purpose of displaying such vehicle for sale
without a permit issued by the village. |
BANKING: Westfield Bank is on Park Circle.
ZONED COMMUNITY-BUILDING PERMITS: Both individuals and contractors must obtain a building permit and make
arrangements for all required plan approvals and inspections for any
type of construction in the county. Village requirements and permits
can be obtained from the Village Hall. County permits are issued by the
county building inspector, located in the Medina County Administration
Building, 144 N. Broadway Street, 1-330-723-3641.
CABLE TELEVISION: The village is served by Time Warner. Call 1-877-772-2253 for information.
CEMETERY: The village operates a municipal cemetery on West Greenwich Road. Information is available at the Village Hall.
CHURCHES: Two churches are located in the village. The LeRoy United Methodist
Church and the Universalist Church were founded in the village in the
1840's. Contact the individual churches for times of services, etc.
They are both located on the north end of the Park Circle.
CLUBS:
| The Westfield Historical Society and the Cloverleaf Women's Club are the two organizations in the village. |

| The
Cloverleaf Women's Club was originally the local Welcome Wagon. Today,
this organization raises funds at its annual auction to provide
assistance to the fire and rescue departments of Lodi, Seville, and
Westfield. It also sponsors regular outings to shopping areas, garden
centers and other points of interest. Of course, lunch is always part
of the day's outing activity. Call the Village Hall for the president's name. Ladies, don't miss this one! |
CONCERTS: The village sponsors two concerts each summer, usually in the months of
July and August. This is a fine time to meet your neighbors and enjoy
contemporary music.

| Emergency
medical service in the village is provided, without cost to the
residents and their families, by the Westfield Fire and Rescue. |
GARAGE/YARD SALES: Garage/Yard sales may be held two times each year, Thursday through
Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, not to exceed two days. One directional
sign is allowed at the nearest intersection to the sale and an
additional sign at the sale. No banners, streamers or similar
advertisements are allowed. All signs are to be removed within three
hours after the end of the sale and no later than 9:00 p.m. on Sunday
of the sale. A permit is required - no cost.
GOLF CARTS: Golf carts are allowed on village streets if they meet all licensing and safety requirements of the State of Ohio.
GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES:

| The
Village Superintendent and three full-time employees provide municipal
services, i.e., snow removal, street repair, mowing of public areas and
operation of water and waste water treatment plants. |
HUNTING: Hunting is prohibited within the village limits. The use of firearms, bows and arrows, etc. are prohibited.
INCOME TAX: Westfield Center has a one percent earned income village tax. For information about liability, call the Village Hall
LAWNS: Proper maintenance and upkeep of vegetation is necessary to maintain
the overall integrity of the village. Unkept conditions are deemed
undesirable and a threat to the public health. It is determined that
weeds growing at a height of 8 inches or higher upon any property are a
public nuisance. If it is determined that properties are being
neglected, you shall be notified by the village and asked to correct
the situation. For information regarding penalties, fines, etc., call
the Village Hall.
LIBRARY SERVICES: The Medina County District Library provides excellent service to the
County. Branches are located in Lodi and Seville, with the main library
in Medina city. The Bookmobile serves the village directly once a week.
Books, videos, computer services are available as well as special
classes and personal assistance.
NEWSPAPERS: The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Akron Beacon Journal, Medina County
Gazette, Wooster Daily Record and Trading Post are the main newspapers
delivered to the village.
OPEN BURNING: Generally, open burning is not allowed in the village. However, given
certain circumstances, permission may be granted. Contact the Fire
Chief, 330-887-5541 for specifics of the ordinance.
PARADE: The Memorial Day Parade is held yearly on the last Monday of May. It is
a remembrance of all veterans who served in the armed services. It is a
grand event attended by the village and township residents and friends.
PARKS: A children's playground is located behind the Westfield Elementary
School. The Rory O'Neil ballfields are located on Ballfield Drive off
North Westfield Road. An adult fitness park is located behind the
Municipal Building.
POST OFFICE:
| Postal Services are provided in the village. Free post office
boxes are available for those residents living on non-service streets
in the village. Residents living on Greenwich Road, North and South
LeRoy, and Westfield Road may install a mailbox at the curb, but will
have a Seville address. Post office boxes are available for residents
on Greenwich, North and South LeRoy and Westfield Road for a fee. The
address will then be Westfield Center. |

| The
post office is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (closed 12:30 to
1:30) and Saturdays from 9:00 am to noon. The lobby is open 24 hours. |
PUBLIC HEALTH: The Medina County Health District provides nursing services, health
education, clinical services, environmental health, and vital
statistics documents. Call 1-330-723-9688 for information.
SHOPPING: The nearest grocery store is Miller Brother's SuperValu located in Lodi
(west of Greenwich Road), 3 miles away. Milk, bread, newspapers, etc.,
can be purchased at the truck stop at Rt. 224 and Lake Road. Mall
shopping is available at the Prime Retail Outlet Mall on Rt. 83 south
of Lodi.
SIDEWALKS: The maintenance and upkeep of sidewalks is the responsibility of the homeowner. This includes snow removal.
TRASH/REFUSE REMOVAL: Garbage service is provided by Waste Management on Tuesdays. Trash
should be out at the curb by 6:00 am the day of pickup. They also pick
up grass clippings, bundled tree branches, packaged newspapers, etc.

VILLAGE HALL: The village hall and the post office are located at 6701 East Greenwich
Road. These are the main information centers of the village. Anything
you want to know about practically everything can be learned at these
locations. If personnel is not available when you visit or call, be
sure to leave a message and you will receive a return call in a timely

the main entrance of the post office.
VOTER REGISTRATION/VOTING LOCATION:
