No domestic animal of any kind may be allowed to run free in the Village. All dogs must be registered annually with the Medina County Auditor and wear a registration tag. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets if a mess is made on property other than their own.
No person shall keep more than a total of three (3) household pets (3 dogs, 3 cats or a combination).
No person shall keep or harbor any dog within the Village which, by frequent and habitual barking, howling or yelping, creates unreasonably loud and disturbing noises of such character, intensity and duration as to disturb the peace, quiet and good order of the Village.

Garage/Yard sales may be held two (2) times each year, Thursday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, not to exceed two (2) days. A garage sale permit is required at no cost. Permits are available at the Village Hall or by clicking on the Garage Sale Permit form below. All garage sale permits must be approved by the Village prior to the sale. One (1) directional sign is allowed at the nearest intersection to the sale and an additional sign at the sale. No banners, streamers or similar advertisements are allowed. All signs are to be removed within three (3) hours after the end of the sale and no later than 9:00 p.m. on Sunday of the sale.
Golf carts are allowed on Village streets if they meet all licensing and safety requirements of the State of Ohio. Golf Carts need to be certified by the Village of Westfield Center Police Chief. Forms are available at the Village Hall.

Council meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor’s Court is held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
The Board of Public Affairs meets the last Wednesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise scheduled.

The hunting of animals or fowl within the Village is prohibited. No person shall, hunt, kill or attempt to kill any animal or fowl by use of firearms or any other means.

Proper maintenance and upkeep of vegetation is necessary to maintain the overall integrity of the village. Unkept conditions are deemed undesirable and a threat to the public health of the residents. It is determined that weeds growing at a height of eight (8) inches or higher upon any property are a public nuisance. If it is determined that properties are being neglected, you shall be notified by the Village and asked to correct the situation. For information regarding penalties, fines, etc., call the Village Hall.

Generally, open burning is not allowed in the Village. However, given certain circumstances, permission may be granted. Contact the Fire Chief. Please call Westfield Fire and Rescue before starting any open burning (330-887-5541).
The Memorial Day Parade is held yearly on the last Monday of May. It is a remembrance of all veterans who served in the armed services. It is a grand event attended by both the Village residents and Township residents and friends.
The Rory O’Neil Baseball Field, 8712 North Leroy, has a walking path measuring 8/10 of a mile.
There is also a small park behind the Municipal Building where there is exercise equipment, a walking path, and playground equipment.
Park Circle: The Village owns the park in the middle of the Village. The park was originally donated to Westfield Township by James Fowler in the 1800’s. The park was transferred to Village ownership in August of 2015. The park can be reserved for weddings and other activities conducive to the property. The Post Office is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (closed 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.) and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The lobby is open 24 hours.

Health Screenings are offered the second Monday of January; March; May; July; September and November from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Village Hall. Health screenings for blood pressure, and glucose screenings are free. It is necessary to fast for at least two (2) hours prior to the glucose screening. Complete lipid profiles can be done for a fee of $15.00. It is necessary to fast for ten to twelve (10-12) hours prior to testing and it is recommended that you consume 8 oz. of water twenty (20) minutes prior to testing. Sewer service is handled through the Village. All new residents need to complete a Sewer Service Application. Sewer charges are based on water consumption. Sewer billing is done bi-monthly. Please read the sewer service description document regarding involuntary water consumption. The nearest grocery store is Miller Brother’s SuperValu located in Lodi (west of Greenwich Road), three (3) miles away. Milk, bread, newspapers, etc., can be purchased at the truck stop at Rt. 224 and Lake Road. Mall shopping is available at the Prime Retail Outlet Mall on Rt. 83 south of Lodi.
The maintenance and upkeep of sidewalks is the responsibility of the homeowner. This includes snow removal.
Recycling Bins: The Medina County Solid Waste District has placed a recycling bin on the east side of the Village/Post Office parking lot. Residents are encouraged to recycle as it is important for all of us to work for a better environment. The bin is for the following recyclables: cans, plastic bottles, cardboard and paper. You are required to obtain a Zoning Permit for almost all structures, including but not limited to both permanent and temporary signs. Zoning Permits must be approved before construction can begin.
