Sanitary Sewer Lining Project

The purpose of this post is to pass along information regarding the Westfield Center Sanitary Sewer Lining project.

The project was scheduled to be completed in November, but has run into December.  Lawns that will be disturbed will be re-seeded in the spring.

The Scope of Work for the Westfield Center Sanitary Sewer Lining project consists of the following:

Sanitary sewer lining utilizing cured-in-place pipe technologies along Greenwich Road, east of Westfield Road

Traffic Pattern Changes

Streets will have temporary closures but the contractor will maintain traffic and access to your homes and businesses. Expect delays.

The project will proceed in the following manner:

OUPS (Ohio Utility Protection Service) will mark/flag the location of existing buried utilities.

During construction, the contractor will make every effort to ensure that mail carriers and refuse collection providers will have access. Please keep in mind that you may need to place refuse containers in accessible areas to help with collection.

The contractor is aware, and will make every effort to provide safe passage for school busses and safety personnel.

All construction projects involve dust, mud, and equipment noise during the work hours. However, we will work with the contractor to keep the work area clean and safe at all times.

The contractor will exercise caution around all buried utility lines, but temporary disruptions in utility services can occur. Report outages to the utility company.

Operation of loud equipment will be limited to the construction hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm (M-F).

The contractor will take precautions when working around private property, which is located within the public right-of-way. You may wish to consider relocating special or important landscape features yourself, onto your property, prior to construction, to avoid damage.

It will be the homeowner’s responsibility to identify and locate all irrigation lines and buried pet containment wires that are within 10 feet from the edge of pavement and edge of driveways. The contractor will make every effort not to disturb such lines.

Construction operations and contractor schedules often change during projects due to weather and unforeseen conditions. If these issues affect your home or access to your property, we will notify you.

At the end of the project, the Village will make sure that all areas disturbed by construction are returned to their pre-construction condition.

The contractor is required to keep and maintain a safe work environment for workers and the general public. However, please use caution around all construction equipment and trench areas, and keep children a safe distance from the work zone.
